June 17, 200520 yr i gave my car a tune up new spark plugs wires, cap, rotor. when i finished installing all the parts the car wouldnt start . so then i took the cap back off and i noticed inside the cap was alot of metal chips it looked like the rotor was rubing along the inside of the cap and cut through 2 of the metal studs almost all the way through. so i change the cap with the old one but it still wont start. could the timing be a factor its getting gas, has good spark, it cranks over but it wont start. please help

June 17, 200520 yr I think there are two rotor sizes available depending on which make of distributor you have. The timing belt may have slipped on the cog wheel because of the wrong rotor.
June 17, 200520 yr you can also make sure the firing order is correct #1, 3, 2, 4 front 21 43 rear #1 on the cap is nearest the brake/hill-holder area, and it goes counter-clockwise from there.
