June 25, 200520 yr Got a parts motor for the ea81t today, noticed that the pistons are slightly different...(aside from the dents in one from a broken valve.....) Anyone know anything about the difference?

June 25, 200520 yr The non-turbo pistons (EA81) are 8.7:1, and the turbo ones are 7.7:1. The turbo pistons would have a larger dish.
July 2, 200520 yr Author Got those pistons out, seems they are a non subaru part. Here are some pics of them, notice the shorter skirts on them compared with my other ones. Anyone know anything about these? -They look like they will give a lower comp ratio than my original ones..... ????
