cowboy74213
I recently recieved a 91 subaru legay with a 4eat tranny that was leaking fluid out of the bell housing. after talking to some of you we determined that the seal might be replaced so we took it apart and some questions came up. does the seal on the aft end of the TC shaft is a split seal like a piston ring or is it an o-ring. and when we sperated the TC and tranny the TC shaft seal came up and looked as if it had not been installed or maybe could internal pressure push that seal out? anyways it was loose and i thought it was supose to be seated in the rear of the bell housing here is a pic of the shaft im talking about: http://img147.echo.cx/img147/8471/dsc007162mt.jpg

Legacy777
That rear seal and where the shaft goes in is a real pain. You may want to search or ask on www.bbs.legacycentral.org as well.
