How to get oil pump out? Ea82T

Featured Replies

Hey guys, right now i have the engine out, timing betls off, and im ready to take out the oil pump. But there is so much crap all over the bottom of it from dirt sticking to it due to an oil leak that i can see anything. What all must be done to take it out? I have removed the 4 obvious 10mm bolts, what else is there?

Thanks!

Wow, i brushed away some of the crud, and found another bolt that i couldnt even see before. It was comepletely covered!

So now that its out, there are just two seals right, shaft and micky mouse?

Thanks

Just did mine last weekend. 3 seals. One for the shaft, one around the oil pump boss and the mickey mouse seal.

Alright, just finsihed it up. I replaced the MM, shaft seal, and a large o-ring.

But i have this left over that i couldnt find a place for:

Its a smaller o-ring, maybe the size of a nickle or so. Anyone know where this would have gone?

Whoo well that was fun. Oil pump seals, valve cover, timming belts, oil pan gasket all done now. Just have to get it all back in. :)

One note though: Whatever manufacturer that made my gaskets did a pretty bad job of it. My micky mouse gasket and valve cover gaskets did not match up pretty well. The bends would be off just by a little bit, but enough for a noticable diff.
