oil pressure gauge no workee...

Featured Replies

My oil pressure gauge has not worked for several months (83' GL wagon). I installed a new sending unit this past weekend (from AutoZone), but nothing happened. The new unit didn't much look like the old blue one that was on the pump. I checked fuses and they are good. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help. I don't like being without me gauge.

I would check to see if you are getting any voltage to the sensor using a meter. You may also be able to ground the lead to see if that does anything on the meter. The problem may be the wiring to the sensor or the gauge itself.

Get a new one from eBay. I got a 0-100psi one for like $17 shipped. I'll get around to putting it in one of these years

my guess is they sold you an

oil pressure switch

not an

oil pressure sender unit

sender unit should have been about 30 bucks

switch less than ten GWs

by chance does the gage rise when the engine

is not running but the ignition is in the run position?

if so then the above is the case
