Ok, WTF is up with the flange welds on the turbo models?, At first i thought i might have just had a bad run in with a few bad welds, I have replaced the cross pipe and the down pipe so many times i have lost count.

 

Swithced to a EA82 (car is 84 turbo wagon) turbo and EA82 cross and down pipe's, Made a little over a 250 mile round trip a few days ago and guess what..............One of my head flanges is leaking and so is my down pipe flange rite next to the turbo.

 

Has anyone one else had problems with stock welds on your turbo's?

 

Any ideas or solutions..............I think i might be going custom exhaust sooner than i had thought i might.

How are the hangers and exhaust supports on the cars you've had these prob's, if you don't have a solid connection to the tranni then it puts alot of strain on the up pipe portion of your header. I've been through a couple of headers but it was mostly to do with bashing/dragging the exhaust on stock cars before I went for the lift.
