What does the Subaru star emblem mean?

Featured Replies

Calling all Subaru aficionados and fanatics of minutia:

Do the seven stars represent a constellation? Pleiades? If so, why? And what about the two lines that connect three of the stars? Are they stars? How about the oval, and that one star that is half in/half out. Maybe no one cares, but I sense some interresting trivia surrounding the stamp on our grills.

Peace,

Thanks much. I thought maybe it was the Pleiades.

svexpert and rezmutt thanks for the answer and the question! That was a great reference that was very informative. This thread is a great example of how well this forum works.

As far as the logo as it appears on the USMB. That was created by Brian (SubaruJunkie) as a morphing of various styles of the " Stars" that Subaru has used over the years.

I know at one time there were more lines used to connect more of the stars, and now there are no lines. Also, the positions of some of the stars have changed over the years. Brian did a great job of pulling the different generations together, by combining the various logos.

Well, all that technical stuff is cool... but..

EVERYONE KNOWS SIX STARS ARE BETTER THAN FIVE! :headbang:
