What's that obnoxious squeek/rattle?

Featured Replies

01 Forester, has had this obnoxious squeek & rattle/knock for over a year now. It has been driving me nuts!

I've had the kids in back pushing on various pieces of plastic trying to isolate the noise...

No luck!

I've been back there doing the same thing...

No luck!

Last night, I undid the drivers side rear seat and folded it forward on a hunch...

No Rattle!!!

I know you don't care but I had to tell someone.

It's been driving me nuts forever!

And now I know what it is....!

Now all I have to do is fix it.

01 Forester--gave up it's secrets today.

My son has a truck that had a squeek he could never find, so he ask me to help him, ever time I rode it would not do it. So finnaly he got out and let me drive sure enough it started then. It was the seat lock device on passenger side, setting there would stop it and getting out would start it again. A little grease stopped it and it has not started back in years.

LOL!

Same reason the kids couldn't find it...they were leaning on it!

...and when they weren't in the car... :banghead:

In the wrong position. I usually move them until they are quiet, bit better view backing with them down anyway.
