Locking gas cap questions.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2000 Subaru S and would like to replace the stock gas cap with a locking one. With the increase in gas prices, I think it's only a matter of time before someone tries to siphon my tank It happened to me and friends of mine in the '70's gas crunch.

Does anyone know of a locking cap that's ok to use on a Subie, and where to get one?

Kevin

Try Stant model 11591 or 10591. I have an 01 Forester S and have been looking into getting one too.

When I traded my old Dodge 360cu.in V8 gas guzzler in for a Forester, I reused that old locking gas cap from the Dodge (I had it for years; it wasn't OEM; bought it at an auto-part store years ago).

The old cap fits the Forester perfectly. And no CELs!

So, moral of the story, try a Dodge locking gas cap.
