with a new radiator installed, i removed the thermostat, will this create a problem down the line, or is it ok to keep it out?

It won't let your engine get up to operating temps, in the summer you may not even get up to a temp where fuel economy is any good, i don't know where you live but if it gets below say 50 in the winter kiss your heater good bye.

I live in Florida, it barely gets below 50, let alone 60, so i really have no use for a heater, even though it still works. The car does get up to operating temperature, since i do have electric fans, it just seems to take longer, i thought that was a good thing?

I thought the main problem with not running a thermostat is that the engine cooling system doesnt "cycle" with out the thermostat. By cycle I mean the thermostat is shut, coolant heats upto thermostats temp, thermostat opens and hot coolant is expelled to the radiator and cooler coolant is cycled into the engine. When the temp lowers from the cooler coolant the thermostat then closes again and the hot coolant is allowed to cool off in the radiator. If it does not cycle it is prone to "heat soak" where it just keeps getting hotter and hotter with out a chance to really cool off untill she boils.

 

Is this way off? Just a theory?
