September 20, 200520 yr I'm starting to hate my 2 wheel drive suby, on the way to pick up a cake for my friends birth day I striped out another wheel hub on the driver side. luckily a friend picked me up and i snaged another off my old 4x4 sub. The cv axle is still good though. Is the hub designed to strip before the axle? This is the second time its happened on that side.
September 20, 200520 yr The axle may not be seating all the way into the hub. I have also heard of some hubs having short splines in them.
September 20, 200520 yr Turbone, you took the words right outta my mouth!!! LOL I was just getting ready to say that the cv axle wasn't seating all the way. That is the only way that I could see the hub stripping out like that.
