Front Differential

Featured Replies

My front differential is losing the 80-w oil, I changed the front axles a couple of years ago but dont remember is there is a seal on the end of axle or not. What do I need to do to stop leak where axle goes into differential? 1997 Legacy wagon, 2.2

check the seals around the axel stubs. subaru half shafts dont actually go into the diff, they hook onto it...[/quote

I guess the seal is behind the little plate on side of diff? I cant find a picture of this in my Haynes manuel.
