Building a roof rack

Featured Replies

If any one is interested, there is a new album in the gallery on making The Subaru Junkie's roof rack. It's step by step, and has some close ups of my welds, and the gutter clamps.

Nice simple design on those gutter clamps. How heavy is it?

SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!! I cant wait. I was thinking of having it coated with rhino lining or line-x... or that do-it-yourself bed liner.

I can fix U both up with NICE 30# steel racks;)

Hummmm sounds tempting. How much does it weigh? Only thing I would change is build it without the rain gutter mounts. I would find a way to mount it to my yakima rack so I could use it on my Legacy, Loyale and 84 Hatch. Neato. Sure beats a wooden rack in 50+mph Reno wind! :dead:
