TheSubaruJunkie
I replaced the air intake for my EA82T. The piece that leads from the MAF to the Turbo. THe old one had a massive leak, and i drove it like that until my replacement part arived (thanks a mill to Calebz). But now, when i romp on it and get past 4500rpm the car studders, and hesitates real bad. Anyone have any idea why? -Brian

TheSubaruJunkie
i didnt see any. Kinda hard to on the way home cause its dark. Im thinking it has a leak somwhere. I have a million brittle hoses under the hood, just no money to repair them. While replacing the air intake i found one of the vacuum switches had busted and was leaking, so i plugged the lines and took the switch out. -Brian
WJM
man...just get about 10ft of vac line... id say there's an air leak somewhere.
TheSubaruJunkie
I have 20ft of some rubber hose i used for my boost gauge, but its real thin and ive already melted it once. Maybe i'll snake some from work. But right now, after spending $13 to have this air intake shipped to me, my RX fun money is sitting at right about -$13.00 Maybe in 2 weeks when i get paid again. If it were an air leak, would the carb cleaner trick still work to locate it? I used a can of carb cleaner while the EA82 sat at idle, and sprayed around everywhere but the idle never picked up and the engine showed know signs of a leak. Also, under boost wouldnt the leak be even more apparent? And how would the leak cause backfire? Its like a miss-fire backfire, not out the tailpipe but a severe miss. Almost like a bad Coil. -Brian
WJM
might be a leak before the turbo...or something else. the flammable in a can thing works ok...most of the time. Might be something electrical too.
TheSubaruJunkie
Ok, i think im going to go out there and just remove the intercooler and all the piping and put the car back to stock. Remove the MBC and leave it at 7psi. While im in there i'll replace what i can with this crappy hose i got. -Brian
