Question on turnsignal flasher 85 gl wagon

Featured Replies

Working on this car for a friend,

The right turn signal goes nuts, figured it was the flasher under the dash.....

Noise for it is coming from the turnsignal cam assembly in the steering column just behind the steering wheel. Is this where the flasher is located in this one.... Looked in the normal place under the dash and nothing there.

Also the emergency flasher causes this area to click also.....

Hush

silly question, but have you made sure all the lights work? These circuits are sensitive to that, and will 'freak out' if a bulb or two are burned out.

just an idea...

If it's just the right and not the left, it's going to be either bulbs or wiring, most likely a ground.

Checked all the bulbs, all good still freaks out with the bulbs out. Was going to throw another flasher in there but couldn't find it, tracked the click to the steering column.

Hush

I think the flasher is on the right side of the steering column. By placing your hand on the unit you should be able to feel the vibration when it clicks and identify it that way.

a lot of times a bulb out is from a loose connection on the socket, wiggling the bulb will make it come back on, as in 90% of lights out on u-haul tricks is the case
