No back-up lights

Featured Replies

I bought a 1990 Subaru LS wagon, which is a wonderful car.

Now I noticed that the back-up lights don’t work.

The fuse is probably OK because turn signal is working (uses the same fuse according to the manual), and the bulbs are fine.

I wonder what could be the reason.

Any suggestion appreciated.

thanks

Auto or Manual Transmission? You are not getting a ground for the circuit, which is through the trans sw.

Beat me to it.

Yup, what Imdew said. It's the reverse indicator switch on the transmission.

It is standard (manual) transmission.

Can I reach that switch from the engine compartment or I have to lift up the car and try to reach it from underneath?

thanks
