November 12, 200520 yr Hey all, after the demise of my 83 Wagon (sold it, then the kid rolled it) i have started work on my 84 sedan again, however i am still stumped on a problem that im having, the Tach jumps, when this happends there a knock from the engine bay (doesent sound like the engine though) and a squeeling noise from the disty, this is all folowed by a miss fire. so i was thinking about replacing the disty to see if that might help,.. if anyone is avalible to maybe have a listen to it and give me there opinion that would be much appreciated, dont get me wrong im a prety darn good wrench, im just stumped, it happens P.s. still on the search for a set of deep offset waggon wheels

When I had my 82 GL wagon, it was doing that, and the disty was the problem.
November 12, 200520 yr i would check for play in the rotor, there are some bushings that you can replace, alot cheaper then a new disty
November 13, 200520 yr Author well i just got a sweet hook up on some Distys, so im gonna give that a shot, everyone i have talked to about it agrees that once i replace the disty all my woes should be a thing of the past, and i as well am confident of the same
