Does anyone know where the relay is located for the rear window defroster in a 1990 Legacy?

 

I am also having troubles with the 4 way flashers, the turn signals work but as soon as I put the switch on for the 4 ways everything dies out.

 

Note all fuse check out okay for both systems.

sounds like the 4 way flasher thingy died. (yes i know thingy is geek term). Rear defogger relay in on the drivers behind the dashboard. There will be three relays, rear defog, tail lights and main fan relay, and what looks like 5 electircal connectors on the same block. Turn signal and hazard unit looks like iits on the left side of the passenger sidenext to the glovebox. Its the middle relay of three, top one is the seat belt timer, lower is the illumination control.

I found it as you said up there with the others. Located on the upper portion of the fuse pannel.

 

The four way issue was simply a poor bond on that relay.
