Guys,

 

I've been gone for a while, but now I'm back. May be getting bit by the Subaru bug again.

 

My question: Fuel pump for 1981 4WD Wagon

 

1) Where is it? Under the car near the rear tire or under the hood?

 

2) How many filters/vapor separators does it have and where are they?

On an 81 the fuel pump and filter should be in the engine compartment near the left strut tower; unless the fuel pump relocation kit was installed. If that kit was installed, it's hard tellin' where the pump.

Drivers side, under the car, near the fuel tank. You should find a filter there and along with another filter under the hood.

 

The pump could also be under the hood, follow the fuel lines until they lead to a pump.
