xt turbo idle problem

i have an 86 xt turbo 4wd and im having problems it will start but die within 3 seconds if i dont hold the gas at around 2000Rpm if i unplug my mass air flow sensor it will idle just fine someone please help me

Sounds like your MAF sensor is bad, and when you unplug it the ecm goes into limp mode which keeps it running at idle.

You need to be patient on here, as stated in your now closed other post "plea for help" this isnt instant messaging. At times it will seem like it though if certain people are on USMB the topics really happen here.

 

I agree, replace the MAF. Post in the marketplace if you are looking for one.
