Featured Replies

I Just changed my oil and the filter was smaller than the ones i used to get. the front half of the p/n was the same but the back half had a 9 where the 6 used to be? Can anyone comment? If fit fine.

2.5 litre 4

Can anyone comment?

Yes, they're different, and perhaps not for the better. See:

If you have the time/patience, read the thread at the NASIOC site.

Under any circumstance, check for oil leaks and level for a while to make sure that you don't have one of the defective filters.

Yeah, new ones are smaller. they had some issue with them at first, a small number of them leak, not that big of a deal, just check it every once in a while.

Well, we used to get the made in USA puralator filters over here in Europe, now we get made Japan.

Old was large and white, new is small and black. No problems with about ten of these so far..

that thread list as well as the one at nasioc was hugely helpful. I apparently got a filter that has a production number that is "out of range" of the troubled filters....which is good, b/c my luck usually puts me into what ever issues are at hand with this type of shat.

For all you that change you're own oil, this is an intersting read. See the above link as well as the ones posted over there.
