January 3, 200620 yr I've done this with my hatch on the Oregon Dunes in Florence and at Winchester Bay dunes but had a problem the second time with sand getting in the carb linkage and causing it to stick near full throttle. Is there anything that can be done to prevent the sticking?
January 3, 200620 yr Maybe some silicone spray.Get it good and lubed and wipe off the excess.Maybe also put some duct tape around it to guard it?
January 6, 200620 yr You could also put one of the distributor boots from say, a 3.0 ford taurus motor and wrap that round the throttle linkages. BTW, if you make a habit of launching that car, you'll be seeing the struts bumping up the hood.
January 6, 200620 yr I use wax-based lubes on my bike so sand won't stick to the drive chain. Try White Lightning, it's parafin wax suspened in alcohol. You can find it at your local bicycle shop.

I'm not going to be jumping my soob any more but will go to the dunes for sure.I use wax-based lubes on my bike so sand won't stick to the drive chain. That sounds like it might work...Next time I go to the dunes I'll try one or both of these. Thanks
