  1. I actually already have a whole other running gear from another ea81 under my shop bench that has power steering, it just doesn't have the bracket that holds the pump. I've been wanting to add power steering to my hatch since I got my car.
  2. I don't have any handling problems. But I just about broke my thumb while I was offroading. I started to run over a soccor ball sized rock and the steering wheel spun and caught my thumb on one of those ears on the inside of the wheel...so I want a stablizer for offroad purposes. ~Lucas
  3. Well I guess I'll assume it hasn't been done....Does anyone know if a person could put a steering stablizer on a subaru...Mine is a 1986 GL Hatch?
  4. Is anyone using a Steering Stablizer? And if so who and can you let me know how to go about it please?
  5. Well I could always weld the holes and go another route but since they were already thru the roof when I got it, I'll keep it that way for now until the roof rack is done. Then I'll do it all right...so far I haven't had any leaks and was going to leave it alone until I found all the hack job of wiring the guy did...now I'm a little worried about having a wiring fire so I'm rewiring alot of stuff I found including some major wiring under the dash I found when I had the dash out...melted wiring and connecter...got the replacement wires from another soob, just gotta get it done.
  6. I scored a 3rd eye at the junk yard last time I was there that was complete and minus the linkage. I was looking for an undamaged speaker cover on the drivers side and there is was on the passenger side on the floor...the best part is I know a guy that works there and get the stuff I get for free or super cheap...got everything I got that day for free...WoooHooo!! Now I just need to cut out the hole in my grill for the light. Lucas
  7. I've taken the dashes out of an '83 GL wagon and an '86 GL hatch...it's a ROYAL pain in the backside. I recovered my '86 dash with camo fabric...looks real sweet and as for the cracks and holes, I used thin cardboard from a shoe box that filled in the spots evenly...can't tell the dash was ever in bad shape and the fabric and spray adh total cost was under $12...I just so happen to know my way around a sewing machine so I also made matching sunvisor covers and covered the arm rest with the left ofer scraps...I went and got some more of the same camo fabric for a little over $3 so I can do the roof liner to match. will put some pics up as soon as I can get some. Lucas
  8. My brother told me to just use silicone but then he's never put wiring thru the body of a vehical so I figured if anyone knew what to do someone here would know.
  9. I've already got lights on the roof of my car and wired (came with the car). My question is: The guy drilled a hole in the roof and ran it out of sight inside down the a piller...since it's already that way, I'd like to make sure the hole is sealed. What is the best way to do this. going to use a rubber grommet(spelling) so the wires won't rub thru and...not sure...any ideas?? or someone that has run the wiring thru the roof like mine?? affraid rain is on its way :-\ Lucas
  10. My two ideas I'd vote for... -Sell the guard and build/buy the right guard? -Sell the guard and buy another subaru?? ~~Lucas
  11. sounds cool...get some pics of the mock up, I'd like to see how you mount it. ~~Lucas
  12. I have an almost new radiator that I have used to see how it would fit in where the spare tire sits but found that there isn't quite enough room. I've been toying with the idea of moviong it all the way to the hatch area...somehow... so far just a thought. ~~Lucas
  13. Has Anyone re-located their radiator? If so, where did you re-locate it to?? Pics?? I'm thinking about relocating my radiator so I can shave the bottom mounts...and it seems like the extra radiator fluid/water would also help keep the temps down a little more, not that I'm really having temp problems. ~~Lucas
  14. Currently...4 inch lift, no front or rear bumper = good approach and departing angles, but not recomended without bumpers....in process of building bumpers. ~~Lucas
  15. These trax can go anywhere...check out the site. http://www.mattracks.com/html/105_series_.htm As for bad approach...check out the video titled "Rough Terrain" http://www.mattracks.com/html/video_clips.htm I've been reading up on this company and thier products...I think they'd be awsome for a subaru. ~~Lucas
  16. Here's what I would be interested in building if I get a chance...but I'd make sure I put the same lift and wheels/tires on it to match my car. ~~Lucas
  17. *BUMP* ...I'm wanting it so I can have something cut into my roof rack, but need the font so they can load it into the computer so it will know what font to cut... ...I'll even settle for a font very simular...still looking for something like it... ugh ~~Lucas
  18. yeah I'm wanting to spell different things...still searching thru tons of fonts. ~~Lucas
  19. I'm looking for this font...Does anyone happen to have it or know where to get it...I've searched everywhere I can think of ~~Lucas
  20. Has anyone ever made or have any ideas about putting a bumper simular to this on thier cars?? ~~Lucas
  21. That brat looks SWEET!! Aren't those flares from a Isuzu Rodeo?? ~~Lucas
  22. Sounds like y'all had alot of fun...can't wait to be on the trail again. But really thought a hatch was 2 door and wagons were 4 door, both with hatch backs. hmmm ~~Lucas
  23. I'm planning to be there this year. And hoping to have a new front and rear bumper made, my roof rack finished, and the interiour pretty much done....will see how much of my plans get finished. but over all I'll do best to be at WCSS8!!! ~~Lucas
