Lifespan: Clutch Master/Slave Cylinder??

Recommended Posts

My 98 Legacy GT has 128k on it and I had the orig. clutch plate/s replaced at 110k - pretty good lifespan for an orig. clutch. However, at 89k, I had to preplace the clutch MC, then at 110 I had to replace not only the orig. clutch, but also the clutch MC and Slave. Now, I got the dreaded ever increasing clutch throw to nothing syndrome and barely made it to my trusty neighborhood shop [try driving in 3rd thru city traffic without stopping in downtown rush hour traffic on a friday!!!].......

I am anticipating another go around with replacing the Slave and quite possibly the MC. Anyone know if 20k on a slave is common, once the cycle of replacement begins? I can't believe it's so, but want to know if any of the other BB members have had this recurring problem....I plan to keep the car another few years since it's paid for!
