120v power outlet

Featured Replies

I bought the 05 LW 2.5i. I didn't think I would be missing out when I didn't get the power outlet, now I'm missing it and wondering what would be involved to wire one up like the factory set up?

Would I be better off just buying a converter for the cigarette lighter?

They are easy to put in, look HERE for install instructions.

Check my L7 website link below for more "New" Legacy/Outback info & tips!

I was assuming the poster was looking for info on installing a 120V outlet, not 12v "cigarette" plug... I didn't even know that the 120v outlet was an option.

Cool website Opie!

 Oh...I thought that was a typo! :)

I have a 400 watt AC inverter that can plug into my lighter, but it won't put out a lot of power that way. It must be hooked up to the battery for any real current draw. Works good with a laptop in the lighter jack.

They are around 40 bucks.

Yeah, I had originally thought that the plug was house current and I was excited to put one in myself. I will find out more about converters.

However, for around 35$ and easy install, the cigarette lighter outlet is a pretty good idea! Maybe I could even put the converter back back there as well.
