Brat Strut Q

Featured Replies

Are struts side specific for Gen 2 Brats and wagons? I ask because I replaced the driver's side axle recently and found that it was actually the front wheel bearings that was causing problems. I have a donor 82 wagon, but the driver's side hub boot is torn. The passenger one is fine though and was wondering if I could just flip it around. Would it work? Thanks.

flip the strut?or flip the axle?it is not really clear what you want to flip around.....

They arent side specific, but they are directional. There is a front and a backside to the strut, but I believe the left will work find on the right side and vise versa.

The hubs, however, ARE side specific. There's no way to use a passenger side hub on the drivers side.

Yeah thanks. Sorry If I confused anyone, but yeah I was wondering if I could use a passenger strut on the driver's side. That's good to know, I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks for the help, its good to know about the hubs though.:)

Oh, the little tab that holds your brake line maybe off alittle. But I think struts have tabs on both sides, maybe for this occasion.

Anyhow, it should work with no problems.
