WagonsOnly
OK, for any of you who happen to have a Gen II (1989-1994) US market Justy, or access to one: A couple of days ago I lent my '94 4-dr Justy to a friend. Seems yesterday she went grocery shopping and either a shopping carriage or an Excursion hit the back of the car. The strip that goes across the hatch, over the license plate holder, was completely shattered. My question: Does the strip screw, glue or clip in? How hard is it to replace or should I just save myself the bother and get a new hatch with a good strip; and, if this is the case, will a hatch from a (much more common) two-door Justy fit? The dealer had no idea what I was talking about, but then I didn't have the car with me (and the local dealer is notoriously bad at servicing anything older than a '99 or so). Any input would be appreciated. (if you have this part, please PM me with shipping and installation info before I double-post this to the Marketplace.) Thanks,Andrew
Esteban32696
Are you talking about the black plastic piece that runs across the hatch, has Subaru decal on right side ?? It is mounted by a couple of attached plastic pins & clips, & also, the hatch handle & 2 rear license tag lights, that screw thru it. You remove interior access panel to get to it all. BAD thing, I see is no listing JUST for that cover, it is called.. I do see the " Cover, Rear gate assembly" as an entire assembly with hatch handle, lights, etc. Part number is; 7910 57380 for a 1994. May give Jamie@SubaruGenuineParts.com a line to see if she can get the " cover" only. Doubtful, that a junkyard would sell just this part, unless tailgate is damaged.I'll keep looking. Esteban I do see the larger center piece[ where plate lamps & latch attach, but it shows it is for an older model '88-'89. Not sure that would work. That Part # is 7910 44370. You can post your needs on this Justy website as well; http://subarujusty.proboards20.com/
WagonsOnly
Thanks very much, I appreciate it. This is the Justy that was on Autotrader this past October--other than that it's running great so far. I'm not disappointed in it at all and hopefully after I get the dings taken care of (it was hit in the left rear, not shown in the photos) it'll last me past 200K.
