Full Size Spare in Impreza Wagon

Featured Replies

Anybody know if a full size spare will fit in the back of a 1997 Impreza Wagon? I've currently got a doughnut back there, and the thought of a flat with no real spare kinda scares me.

no

the full size is to tall, the diameter is almost the right size, but the 6.5" or whatever it is is a little to much. i mean.. by all means you can put it there, but your trunk stuff is going to have a wheel shaped bump in the floor.

Hmmmm, what about putting a slightly narrower but still full diameter spare in there? Something like a 155/80/15 instead of the stock 195/65/15? That comes to 24.8" vs. 25.0" How wide a tire will fit without pushing the floor up?

i dont' know exactly, but my 205/60/R15's picked up the back cardboard thing a good inch or 2.

I suppose you could use a BFH and make the compartment bigger.. i thought about this a while ago, but there's not much room in there to swing

you'd have to get a new rim. (i hope i didn't just insult your intelligence)

the 6.5" rin is only good from 185 to 215

and 185's pushing it
