February 4, 200620 yr so the little rubber diaphram on the end of my fuel pump is spitting ... anyone find a cheeper alterative... Advance auto quoted me $179 and the subaru steelership said $299 for a new pump... but i looks like a simple 2 wire hookup and i just need to find a pump with the propper psi... anyone already done this????? the car is a 1992 subaru loyale ea82 with a 3 speed automatic and pushbutton 4wd.... ~119,*** miles.. thanks dan
February 4, 200620 yr yea you can go about it a different way. after market Fuel Injection fuel pump. 42 Psi is what the SPFI runs off of I believe. You could even get a bigger pump and put a pressure regulator on it.

February 4, 200620 yr No need to pioneer it Dan, it's been done. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40400 I never upgraded the fuel pressure regulator, and the car is just fine.
