EA82 mpfi turbo SMOKEN

Featured Replies

Hi I have a Volkswagen ute with a EA82 mpfi turbo that seams to belch white smoke after the engine has warmed up eg 5 miniuts after start up I get a momentary loss of power and then woosh a large dump of smoke and the all is fine again .. there seems to be a wisp of smoke coming from the waste gate there is no noise, rattles etc to indicate turbo failure

this problem seems to be getting worse

and please no puns about it being a VW ..it leaves most cars for dead

Ok second edition

have found that left hand valve cover (tubo side) is pushing oil into the air intake through the breather hose

any ideas on why?

Does the smoke smell sorta sweet? Might be coolant getting in somewhere.
