Agressive 13 inch tires

Featured Replies

Ok, My '85 brat has bald front tires, so...Does anyone know of an agressive 13 inch tire? I realize I'm not going to find serious knobby rock climbing mud swimming high performance rubber...but, as long as i am replacing tires, I'd like to get the best traction I can.

I've heard i could get Pugeot 14" or 15" wheels, but then i think i'd need 4 of them, and then to purchase 4 tires, and then maybe need a lift kit or be out there with my sawzall trimming the fenders.

For now, it would just be so much easier to find agressive 13" tires. I am using my Brat as a giant motorized wheelbarrow on steep muddy trails around my place. It just isn't cutting it to have to gun it up the steep stuff with spinning tires and a lot of sliding.

thanks

About the only thing I could find are snow tires. That's a big part of the reason I'm scouring the junkyards to find a set of 6 lug wheels to put on mine.

Kuhmo makes a dirt/gravel tire that's fairly cheap. Tire rack sells it. If you're using 4wd I'd get 4 tires as you're drivetrain will be much happier.

I'll second the Kuhmo. They also have a rally tread that might work for you; certainly more robust than most tires.

Excuse for for jumping in here :)

Just a question.... is it worth getting offroad tires and not getting the extra wide rims that would seem to make it look nicer anyway?

try ebay, they sometimes have really aggressive treaded recaps, and they are cheap too.

Yes, in my experience with my Brat. It drove much better off road with narrow tires then the 205s I stuffed on it. Granted it depends what you're driving through but for most trail running. Narrow seems better, mud and sand would be different though.
