Joey Joe
I failed emissions because my idle was at 1500 in neutral on my 1990 Loyale 1.8 Turbo. I need to know how to adjust the idle and if it could possibly be a hose leak or something. Thanks in advance.
Dylan86GL10
Check the throttle cable mount (on the bellhousing) and the set screw where the throttle arm meets the throttle body.
Dylan86GL10
and yes a vacuum leak could cause the same thing. Spray water mist from a squirt bottle or even carb cleaner to help find a vaccum leaks.
Holmes
You can only adjust the IAC up or down about 100rpm, if that. Mine was idling at 1500 for a while. I cleaned the IAC and it dropped to 1100. I changed the CTS and it went down to 750 where it should be. Make sure your throttle cable isn't too tight and the throttle arm is moving freely. Don't touch the throttle stop screw.
Joey Joe
I do not know what the IAC or the CTS is. I think I can pass by disconnecting the PCV system. It brings the Idle down to a rough 400. Normally I would try to fix it right but I cant legaly drive the car cuz it hasnt been registered for over a year, and I need to start driving it tomarrow. Thanks.
nkx
if you look close at the back of the throttle body, youll see a flat head screw adjustment for the idle facing up. iirc, if you rotate it clockwise, idle will lower. turn it CCW to raise the idle.
