  1. You might want to try EBay as well. There's a guy on there that sells pumps for EA82's pretty cheap.
  2. When was the last time it had a tune-up? Was the old pump dead or just loud? They can be working fine and still be pretty loud.
  3. For the past 3-4 years I've been keeping consistent track of my mileage. I use the same pump at the same station about 98% of the time to rule out differences there. It only changes when it needs a tune-up or something takes a dump (i.e. oxy sen). Highway: 30-32 mpg City: 19-21 mpg
  4. You might want to give the CTS (coolant temp. sensor) a look-see. I had one with a bad connection where the wires go into the sensor and it would intermittently surge.
  5. If you would have read my reply you probably could have figured it out.
  6. Be advised if your going to buy a new one that they call it by a different name for an 87. They call it an "air charge temperature sensor", I suppose because it controls how much air is let in by the IAC. Check it out here - http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=GPS&mfrpartnumber=77919017&parttype=756&ptset=A And the standard sensor used on the Turbo models is always available. Like these - http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=GPS&mfrpartnumber=385029&parttype=290&ptset=A I used the one for the Turbo since it was cheaper and I wasn't aware that it had a different name at the time. It's worked fine so far.
  7. Don't try to pull those wires out of the sensor. They're not removable.
  8. If you loosen it up all the way and it still catches, check to make sure the hill holder mechanism isn't sticking and the spring is attached of course. Usually the proper adjustment is where you can just see a little light between the springs coils. Maybe the cable is sticking. Make sure it dosen't have any kinks or harsh bends in it.
  9. So that's where it went. My old link to it didn't work last time I tried it. Good find. I got lucky and scored a complete set of manuals for my 87 for $10 on ebay last month.
  10. If it's a Cali car then I'm pretty sure it's the second cat. At least it is in my 87.
  11. There listed on these two sites, don't know if they have them in stock or not. http://www.autopn.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=8665 http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=GCK&mfrpartnumber=SB8005&parttype=945&ptset=A
  12. Here's a Technical Bulletin about your problem. They sell a better boot if you want to do it yourself. http://www.carquest.com/common/downloads/partsTechDriveTC_2004.pdf
  13. There's a code in my earlier post too. I don't know when it expires, but it's working now. 497871456432
  14. My mounts appear fine too. My 4wd hi/lo selector has a shatload of movement in it when accelerating/decelerating. It's tight when you throw it in 4wd and it's being braced by the rear though. I've been putting it off for a while, but I just can't stand the slop anymore personally.
  15. I emailed there service dept. and they said Anchor has them on backorder for 2-3 more weeks. After that, you can special order them through Rockauto with no fee attached. Sounds good, I guess I'll try get in touch with them in a few weeks.
  16. Well, it surely can't hurt to inquire about them again. Maybe they are on backorder or something. It seemed like the price had dropped since the last time I looked, so maybe they got a new shipment. You can usually find a 5% discount code through a web search to take some of the sting away from the shipping charges. This one is still working - 497871456432
  17. Good ol' Rockauto has motor and tranny mounts cheap. Cheapest I've ever seen. They're listed with the motor mounts on this page - http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1268568,parttype,5552,EPIsubcategory%5B609%5D,Front%2BEngine%2BMount,partGroup,20
  18. There are pictures of what you want to do in this thread - http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16162&page=2&highlight=dies+on+turns That blue tee isn't a standard tee. It has some ridges in it. I'm assuming they act like dam for the small amount of oil that will still come up that hose. Even with the fix you can still be pulling oil in there, just not enough to cause any smoke screens. Or at least that is my experience. Some really good pics in that thread. It should be added to the USRM.
  19. JCWhitney.com has the more traditional stuff if your looking to warm your feet a bit. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2007277/c-10101/Nty-1/p-2007277/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10101/tf-Browse/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=carpet+insulation Or this place http://www.stockinteriors.com/jute.asp?Itemid=4794&ModelId=&MakeId=
  20. You can get them at most parts stores. These are the cheapest I've seen so far - http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=sm1chiqg14h5tamc30hbspaf&makeid=800022@Subaru&modelid=805862@1800&year=1989&cid=803401@Transmission&gid=801027@Transmission%20Mounting There was a thread a while back about repairing some mounts with urethane. The kind used to set windshields. Do some searching.
  21. The problem could be your hill holder. If it's too tight, you won't be able to move much. Look at your clutch fork and follow the cable that goes down towards the drivers side brakes. It should connect to a hill holder assembly with a little spring on it. If that spring is stretched out more than the the width of a dime between coils, it should be loosened. If that looks to be the problem, do a SEARCH for "hill holder". There has been quite a few threads about it's adjustment.
  22. The estimate is probably so high because a new injector can run upwards of $550. You can get a refurbished injector for around $70 or even $35 if you send in a rebuildable core in return. Check these places out - http://www.directautomotiveproducts.com/322a3070.html http://www.fuelinjectorsdirect.com/wizard/default.asp http://www.fuelinjectorsdirect.com/returnservice.asp http://www.autopn.com/autoparts/lookup/auto_parts_listparts.asp?AAIA_ID=1268513&subcat=6224 And the solenoid can be taken care of in a number of ways. You can stick a resistor in it to fake out the computer, get one from the JY, or get one from here - http://oem.thepartsbin.com/parts/thepartsbin/quote.jsp?make=SU&year=1988&product=B7079-60044&application=000512384&part=Purge%20Valve%20Assembly&category=All&dp=false And a purge solenoid is the same as an EGR solenoid, just with a different connector on it. Just splice the connector on if that happens to be all you can locate at the JY.
  23. Partsamerica.com lists some solid mounts. Might want to check it out. Not sure if there listings are correct, but they have pics. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=PIO&mfrpartnumber=602869 http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=PIO&mfrpartnumber=608640
  24. It covers the little area where the EGR solenoid and the Purge solenoid reside. The little spot next to the IAC.
