February 9, 200620 yr sounds like a bad alternator. This same thing happened to me when I hooked all 4 lights up on the Brat I'm driving plus the stereo which has 2 10" subs behind the seats. You might wanna put an EA82 alternator on since it has a little more amps runnin from it or search for the GM alternator swap

February 9, 200620 yr By "not keeping a charge" do you mean the battery won't hold a charge when the car's off, or it's not charging when the car is running? If the latter, does it make a difference whether the lights are on or not? If it won't hold a charge when it's off, you ought to check your wiring. If it won't hold it when it's running, your alt could be kaput or just not big enough, or your wiring could have a minor short somewheres.
February 9, 200620 yr If you don't have an optima you HAVE to have one. My optima has saved me multiple times. Run out of gas and just put in second and crank on it and limp along to a safe spot or to the closest gas station.
