75subie
i found a 94 fwd 5sp Justy 20 mins from my house for $125, its a 2 door and the body is great. the guy says it runs, but has a worn crankshaft (is this notorious for these?) i know motors for these are a pain to find in good shape, but i have a higher compression ea71 sitting here with a weber carb, i can probably find a 5 speed tranny to hook up to it from a 78 or 79 fwd gen 1. i also have a ea71 y-pipe. i was just wondering, would it be possible to mount a ea71 w/a five speed tranny into the justy? i like the simplicity of the ea71, but i am just wondering if there is enough space in there between the rails and the legth of the engine bay. thanks Jon
75subie
i do realize that the justy has an inline 3 sitting sideways, but even being opposed cylinders, the ea71 is a narrow engine.
Jerry DeMoss
Ya you could do it.You would be cutting the fire wall a bit and mounting custom engine mounts.Just depends on how much you want to do it.Also time and money come into play. Also it is the oil pump that gets chewed up on those little 3's.
simple monkey
dont suzuki engines bolt in pretty easy? those are easy to find, very reliable, and get pretty good power. i think the engine codes are g10 g13a and g13b, then there is the g16a and g16b which came in the geo tracker. but a long time ago, i thought i read a thread about putting a D series honda engine in a justy. i think that would be your best bet. what ever engine you swap in will be interesting if it isn't stock though, so best of luck. -Victor
mbrickell
Check http://www.car-part.com for a good used Justy engine. I had a Peugeot 504 diesel and needed a tranny, and everyone said, yeah, right, forget it, you can't find those. I found one on that site and haggled them to $200 shipped to my door on a pallet. Not bad. If you could find a Justy engine for a couple hundie on eBay or car-part, I'd do that...
