I picked up a set of these dirt cheap today and will be installing them in my 00 Outback. If not this brand, has anyone tried another HID conversion on their "newer" Subaru? Here they are:

They will alter the beam pattern to where they will blind on-coming vehicles. The filament placement (hot spot on HID, since they don't have a filament) is not the same between HID's & halogen bulbs. This completely changes the optics of the headlight.

i agree. The reflector is designed for a bulb, and you may actually get less usable light, though they may be brighter, since they are not properly focused.
