DFW Shop day/night?

Featured Replies

With the recent addition of a few new old school members, there are now nearly twice as many of us as there were a year ago.

Would anybody be interested in a shop night in Allen?

Don't have the stuff here for any fabrication, but I do have space, tools, some spare parts and a bit of experience. This could be a good chance to meet some people and maybe for some of the newer members to learn a little more about their cars.

Sounds like fun to me, you buying the beer too

Depends on who shows up. If its just you and me, I think the three beers in the fridge will do:lol:

All sorts of odd bits, intake tubes, a couple MAFS. some water pipes. a mostly complete EA82T intake manifold pretty messed up.. only really good for sensors or maybe modern art :D. Might be a stock EA82T downpipe in there. I know there are some axles somewhere as well. theres just boxes and boxes of crap that has moved with me the past few times I have moved. Never got unpacked. Now my car is far enough beyond stock that I can't use most of it.

Probably a few interior bits in there as well.. Won't really know too much until I get more of it unpacked.

I have those strut/spring setups you wanted too.. but those aren't on the freebie list ;).. But I'll make you a deal.

lol well now that I got a VW Scirocco im going to offroad the subaru..still would like to lowride one but waiting till someone is ready to part with a turbo wagon. do need tie rods pretty bad though...and even after re-adjusting everthing am getting around 17mpg and would like some help tring to get it to at least 20ish or more.

Guess not.

I have tried this about once a year since I moved here.

I figured this time I have a bunch of misc parts, a three car garage and every tool available to fix nearly anything on a soob, that some might be interested. I know there are more people in the DFW area on the board.

Oh well.

Its not WA, thats for sure. It seems like the last week I was getting my stuff together to move down here, there was a constant stream of Board members in and out of my garage. Picking stuff up, bringing me stuff (cars, parts, you name it).

I know a couple people here. Have made a few really good friends with soobs. But the ones that are members here rarely post. And the others are NASIOC people that have never even been to the USMB

I was aiming for the 5-6 other people that I know are in the area, but haven't met.

Wow, bummer it didnt materialize. Guess I am guilty as I don't open the meet and greet forum as often as the others. Don't do much car work other than maintainance(all levels, including egine/tranny replacemtn), but would be nice to get to ge together and even if no hot project on my list help someone else out. Allen a bit of a hike from Watauga but not bad in off rush hour traffic, I commuted to McKinney for 2 years, and to Plano/Richardson for 12+ years...

Maybe the DFW crowd needs to try to get together this spring/early summer? For lunch and show off cars?(or laugh at mine...) am open. Again, sorry for missing this thread until too late.

Thanks for showing up. You are one of the ones I was looking for ;)

It could still materialize.. I do this every year in hopes that more people show interest in the area.
