is it possible that the shifter from an xt {not the T handle type}will fit in my 89 gl. i like the style with the pushbutton on the top. i think i like that goofy steering wheel too. now,just where to find one around the here parts!

I'm pretty sure the steering wheel won't. Different spline count. Someone on XT6.net had purchased an aftermarket steering wheel for the XT6, and none of the aftermarket adapters fit. It seems the XT and XT6 both have a completely different spline count from their EA-82 bretheren.
