'06 Baja stereo question

Featured Replies

:headbang: Hello I just purchased a new Baja Turbo, and was wondering if anyone knew who actually manufactures the stereos for our vehicles? Just curious! By the way, I love the vehicle! Thanks in advance for any answer.

:headbang:Anyone know? I know that the stereo in my '01 Dakota I had was made by Infiniti. Just curious as to who manufactures the stereos in our Subarus. Thanks for any reply.

Mid to late 90s and possibly early 200x were Panasonic. With the new model years Subaru may have changed vendors, especially with the "integrated" stereo and climate control clusters. Call a parts department at a Subaru dealership, they probably could tell you.

Edited Update: Did a google search for "stereo manufacturer in 2006 subaru", check this website:

http://www.cars101.com/subaru/legacy/legacy2006.html

**Standard features on the 2006 Legacy 2.5i wagon and sedan**

AM/FM/CD player, R/RW discs, 120w, 6 speakers, with bass, mid-range, and treble adjustments (by Panasonic).

The Baja is most like the same...

you might run into problems... i know at least in the newer Outbacks, 05' -06' ish that the head unit is part of the heater control also... One of my buddy's has a new outback.. might be an 06, and he couldn't change the head unit... because it's all one circuit board in there... no good. :-\

:headbang:Thanks for the responses guys. I don't plan on changing the stereo, I'm fairly pleased with the one that is in the car. I was just curious as to what company manufactured it. I got the factory 6 disc stacker with 6 speakers and it sounds fine to me! I'm actually pleased with how it sounds!

dont the baja's still use the 00-04 OBW style dash and stereo cluster? (aka, double-din size replaceable head units :D ) I think it does....
