TPS help

Featured Replies

I am trying to get to it it looks like you might have to pull off the full TB to get to it any one have an easy way of getting the TPS out?

If you have one of those 90 degree screwdrivers from Craftsman, they work pretty well. I actually just removed the one from my old intake. If you need one, just gimme a holler! I got like 4 of them:D

on my 88 GL with AC, there wasn't quite enough room to unbolt the TPS and slide it off...

So... I took a large file and just started filing away at the bracket for the AC. 1/4" later I had enough room to slide the TPS off

This saved removing either the throttle body, or removing the alternator, AC, AC bracket, and whatever else to be able to move those things.

good idea on filing the brackets down. I will try that on the next one I work on. I like how they used really small screws too so you lose them down in the intake/top of block when you take them off.

or....the TPS screws strip. so you end up drilling them out. another favorite of TPS fun.

I used to mess with it using a flexible screwdriver, but actually found out is was WAY easier just using on of those short, stubby screwdrivers. The hard part is puting it back on. You'll need a magnet
