I got a odd one for you my 88 3 door cel is on when its cold say 40f when first start it up in the morning to leave for work but when i leave for lunch break it goes off so, what do you think it is I haven't had the time to pull the codes yet but i will this weekend in til then i'll drive the rs

off the top of my head i don't know. except to say it sounds more like an electrical contact issues if it's temp related - which would lead me to believe the CTS (coolant temperature sensor) is to blame. just pull the wiring connector to it and look at the contacts. if you see any greenish or otherwise dirty contacts on the sensor or the connector then that is likely your issues. that would be a code 21 i think...but i'm not sure about that. don't replace the sensor, that's only a temporary fix and not worth the money when the problem will come right back anyway.

check the codes and let us know. only take about 20 seconds to pop the trunk and read the flashing lights. we can help you track down the code if you count the flashes.

I swear, everytime I read on the board about something new, seems like it happens to me! My Loyale did this very thing today. Code 24 on mine, which I believe is Idle Air Control Valve.

I just recently swapped a new EA82T into my RX and it is doing that same thing. It seems rather more random on mine though, sometimes it even flickers, but usually only does it when its cold.
