91 Loyale Oil Weight

Featured Replies

I just bought myself a 1991 Subaru Loyale with 160 000 kms on it, 5 speed, and 4wd. Oil changes are a good thing to do when you buy a used car and I was wondering what oil weight I should run.

Ive heard 10w40 is a good choice?

Thanks.

Personally, I use 10w30 in cars that dont burn or leak oil... But if it does, try 10w40. Also, if the Soob has the Tick Of Death (lifter tick) a quart of MMO is a small investment to add to your oil. :)

Has no ticking (yet). Ive only owned the car for 3 days. And it doesnt seem to burn oil. Havent had it long enough to find a leak. I guess Ill try the 10w30 and see if she blows.

thanks.
