will welding damage the ecu or sensors???

we'll im finally making some boost, but i found an exhaust leak on my external wastegate flange. can i just go ahead and weld this while the headers attached to my car or will this damage any electronics (i read somewhere it did??) .......thanks guys

i was mig welding...i went ahead and did it anyways, it didnt hurt anything!!:clap:

I've been doing quite a bit of mig welding on my car lately.. yeah.. disconnect the battery and your good..

a battery disconect is the right thing to do. they alo sell system protectors that just clamp onto the batt terminals. I think its just a big capacitor really.

 

I have to admit I have mig welded on my car many times without protecting the ECM and have had no problems.
