Which ECU's are interchangable?

Featured Replies

I'm going to head to the junkyard and look for one to pull.

I'm driving a 88GL MPFI Turbo. Can I take one off of any MPFI car?

My ECU has a bunch of numbers on it:

Big font: 20

First top box: 22611 AA410

Bottom left box: A11-000 R15

Bottom right box (stamped): 8118

Help much appreciated!

i just got one from a 86 mpfi xt ,will sell cheap + shipping if it will work for you

try to match them, because a non turbo ecu will not work, fuel curve and timing control is different.

good luck

NO,pre 87s won`t work.I`d stay away from XTs too.

You want to match this #.22611AA410.

Unfortunately that # is unique to 1988 49 state non-XT turbos.

Not positive whether an 88-9 calif. turbo(AA480) or 89 49 state(AA630) turbo ECU might work properly, but,I doubt it.

I picked up an AA480 and so far so good. The car seems to run although it would work fine before and then suddenly quit, so I need to get some miles under it to be sure. Now I'm getting codes 34 and 51 which are manageable and non-critical. We'll see how things progress.

Thanks for the replies, folks.
