EA82T... PCV question

Featured Replies

So in my continuation on the RX, I need to deal with the PCV area of it.

My question is... can I put breathers on the crankcase, and the valvecovers and then put a plug in where the valve goes in the intake? If I do need to keep it hooked up, then what should I do? A reminder for people joining us... '89 RX with a EA82T, WRX TD04, WRX top mount intercooler and a spyder intake from a '88 XT

Valve areas are not directly connected to the crank-case in such a way that pressure will equalize (without blowing seals), so yes you need the PCV. Run all three to the air filter and you should be good.

As long as the breathers get filtered air you should be fine.

so then if I run the valvecovers to breathers and the crankcase to the PCV valve, I should be fine?

Here's the way mine is run:

Pass side stock

Driver side, run straight up into "Brake Booster filter" from the "help" section of Advance to let the vapors expand and condense on the filter and run back into the motor, from these it goes into an ebay catch can mounted where the A/C was, then into the pcv valve

My setup (turbo etc...) will be pretty much the same as yours once its swapped into my other wagon
