warning lights

Featured Replies

I've an 86 GL10 turbo wagon which the 3 dash warning lights (charge, stop lamp, brake fluid) glow at various degrees of brightness and the parking brake dash light flickers off and on. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

I'm thinking of selling this old beauty in the near future, It has about 125-130,000 mi. on her well maintained, but needs a small amount of body work, always been in a garage. Also have all the factory service manuals for her.

What's she worth?

Welcome to the board!

I'd guess the glowing and flickering is part of a grounding problem, possibly feeding electricity back through the other systems. (caused by rust perhaps?)

It would be easy to check the wires around the master cylinder and brake light areas. The switch for the park brake is on the rear of the handle mount. (it's wire runs under the passenger seat.)

Wish I could be of more help.

82 Hatch, with new and improved body! :temper:

01 Forester, doesn't need a new body :burnout:

For your warning lights, I would check your alt first.. the symptoms you describe are indicative of an alternator on its way out..

as far as price goes, you will find that most of us here are cheapskates/dealhunters(not too hard when you are talking soobs)

$500-$1200 depending on condition, how the car is equipped(auto or manual and stuff like that) and what the market in your area is like

Thanks for the advice, I'll check into it.

By the way it's 2WD, 5spd.manual, and it's been driven less than 1500 mi. in the last 10yrs while its been garaged!

Caleb is right, run an ad in the paper or on the bay. We be freebie bee's, or close to it.

given the facts as they are, what's a fair price? Obviously the turbo makes it more attractive!
