GL/Loyale Radiator differences?

Featured Replies

Is there any reason this would fit a 90 manual but not an 87 manual?

This radiator will fit the following model(s):

1985-1989 Subaru Gl/ Gf/ Dl/ Fe/ Rx/ Glf L4 1.8 Liter Engine Automatic Transmission

1990 Subaru Loyale H4 1.8 Liter Engine Manual Transmission

Core measures 25.375" x 12.875" x 0.75"

All of the "L"-body radiators should interchange, as long as automatic's tranny cooler is factored in. I don't have access at the moment to dimensional info, but the only issue is if the listing for the earlier radiator is really for an ea81; computer listings are unreliable for those years, and the "fits GLF" kind of indicates EA81.

EA82 radiators are pretty generic for fitment.

Should work. The upper and lower hoses are the same angle, and the mounts are the same. I've swapped radiators between Loyales and GLs.

Yes, me too, helpin` some friends who got subies, but my White Wagon got a "Made in Honduras" Radiator... It`s made from the frame of the Stock one, but it got Double Panel (Instad of the Single that was stock) so it can handle almost twice the amount of water, and keep my Weberized EA82 Cooler. (Remember: Here are Always tropical temps, so the U.S.A. Version cars that came here, have always the "Overheating" Behavior)

So, you can put there a more Thicker radiator, but then you`ll got less space to pull the fan and work is not easier... But they swap.

Good Luck! :)
