I want to install the sender for my water temp gauge. Where do you recommend I place it? From where would the reading be most benificial on a turbocharged car? I'd like to avoid drilling and tapping any metal but if there aren't any readilly avalible soft mounts.

My Turbo has the water temp sender mounted in place of the original sender for the dash, right on the t-stat housing. Makes sense to me.

I didn't want to make new holes either and my aftermarket sender had standard threads, so I broke the plastic off of the old sender and tapped the brass with a pipe tap. Worked great for my VDO sender. I had to saw a bit off the end of the old sender to get the new sender deep enough.
