Testing a coolant temp sender?

Recommended Posts

Hi, ongoing problems with my EA82T. Tried swapping my coolant temp sender and cleaning the contacts but would like to just check it.

Can anyone tell me what to measure on the ECU end of the wires if I splice into them and use a multimeter (presume its a resistance measurement)?

Thanks

Habib..how are you buddy....i installed a wolf yesterday and the coolant temp sensor spec,s are...temp 10c / 14f...7-11.5 k ohms

20c / 68f..2-3 k

50c / 102f..700-1000k

and its a sensor not a sender..measure this with the plug off
