October 31, 200322 yr is there anyway or any company that would help in the performance of an automatic transmission equiped ea81....like a new trans converter or a shift-kit wifes new vehicle not changing to a stick......thanks for the help and btw who has the best repair manual...chiltons, haynes, whosbest specially wiring diagram wise
October 31, 200322 yr No auto shift kits that I am aware of for these cars Best manual is the FSM.. best place to find them is here or eBay
October 31, 200322 yr Factory Service Manual.. Written by FHI(Fuji Heavy Industries, parent company of Subaru) BTW, changing to a stick isn't so bad.. the white wagon in the sig below used to be an auto.. but its all better now:D
November 1, 200322 yr Author yea i know changing to a stick isnt all that bad but i like the brat better and i dont drive the wagon as much but when i do i want more performance.......i like the big doors in the brat anyway
November 1, 200322 yr make sure to keep up on its flui changes, and clean and inspect the governor shaft, as most autos go to hell from lak of attention. check the front diff oil. it uses gear lube. it has a separate reservoir and dipstick than does the ATF
